Plymouth win Friendly match
against Budleigh Salteron

This has become an annual event and this year took place on Thu 9th May with 8 players from Plymouth taking part, these being Marjorie Barker, Ann Perry, Noral Bolt, Bill Davison, John Pugsley, Bob Savage, Eddie Shaffert and John Shepherd.

Everyone played two timed games, on in the morning and one in the afternoon. The eventual score was a win for Plymouth 9 - 5 with two games drawn.

As usual the days was enjoyed by all, with good play, food and friends at Budleigh.

Over the six days from Mon 13 to Sat 18th May 2002 players in Division II of the Tournament (Handicap Play) players competed for the J.K. Brown Memorial Challenge Cup.

Malcolm Hooper (Plymouth) won this cup in 2001 and returned to defend his title in 2002.

Malcolm Hooper reached the final once more and played Tony Backhouse (also a Plymouth player).

Malcolm emerged the victor and thus retained his title.

Well done both of you !

on 10th March 2002.
